Best of weddings in Buffalo NY - Wedding Venue: Akron Acres delivers rustic barn weddings on a real farm

I have to say, the trend of barn weddings is not going anywhere. One crucial flaw I have noticed doing a lot of them is very simple: Barns tend to be poorly insulated. So a hot wedding day is probably going to make your reception hotter than you want it to be and a cold one will lead to people wearing jackets on the dancefloor.

One venue that avoids that is Akron Acres. The stunning barn situated on a real farm is fully insulated and has a GIGANTIC fan on the ceiling to keep the air flow going. I don’t remember any wedding day there being uncomfortable honestly.

Lots of photo options

Akron Acres is located in Akron, NY, so about 30 minutes out of Buffalo, NY. Depending on the season you get different options for your wedding photos. There are beautiful flower rows next to the bridal cottage, there is a cornfield behind the ceremony space and there are sunflowers next to it as well. Maple lane gives you that classic row of tree look and evergreens are just waiting a few steps away. And I didn't even mention the rustic wooden bridge yet that has more amazing greenery around it, including a willow tree.

What makes any wedding day easier is to keep traveling to a minimum. Usually Akron Acres is a one stop shop. The one side of the wedding party might need to get ready at a hotel but the cutest little house a few steps away from the barn makes it easy to get ready on site for the other side of the wedding party.

One stop shop

Doing getting ready, ceremony and reception all in one location will make it a lot easier to make your own wedding day feel relaxed and without any stress about getting somewhere on the right time.

Below is the interview I did with the owner Marylin Kelkenberg. Then you will find lots of wedding photos from Akron Acres as well as three videos I filmed there over the years. I hope this helps you to pick the right location! You can’t go wrong with Akron Acres, I love working there!
