Jenna and Corey at O’Brien’s Sleepy Hollow in East Aurora, NY

Jenna is probably the friendliest roller derby girl you’ll ever meet. That might be one of the reasons why Corey knew after a few months that he wanted to marry her. If you have never seen roller derby, you should watch it at RiverWorks at the outer harbor in Buffalo, NY. It is a fun game to watch and the people involved in it are usually hilarious. Chances are, you might see Jenna there as well.

On their wedding day, Andy and I started to film and photograph the getting ready at the Hampton Inn. Andrew from Salon Rogue was doing an impressive job on the make-up for Jenna and the bridal party. The bride herself did the make-up for her flower girl which she was, of course, very excited about.

Later on, the scenery at O’Brien’s Sleepy Hollow right next to the Buffalo Creek fit very well with the fall theme that Jenna and Corey picked for their wedding. The leaves were starting to turn and the centerpieces and bouquets matched the whole atmosphere perfectly.

I was excited to see DJ Pat O’Brien again. We needed a while before we finally realized which wedding this year we worked together before. I remembered him being very polite and helpful as well as my second shooter Ellen being a fan of his voice.

Aisha and Matt at Springlake Winery in Lockport NY

When I met Aisha and Matt the first time for engagement photos, I was still pretty new in Buffalo. Honestly, engagement sessions were still a little bit scary for me because I didn’t feel as comfortable with it as am I now. Aisha had asked me if we could shoot at Glen Park in Williamsville, NY which is basically a beautiful waterfall with a little bit of park around it. My favorite photo of the day was them standing on top of the waterfall, which you can see here

The wedding day started at the Hyatt Place very close to Glen Park actually. I was able to go back and forth between Aisha and Matt since they were both staying in the hotel. Their two dogs that I already met about a year ago for the engagement photos were getting more and more excited. Looks like they knew something big was going on.

At Spring Lake Winery the setting sun was glimpsing through the trees and lit up the ceremony in an almost magic way. I couldn’t have asked for more interesting lighting! Steve from Saxman Slim was playing for the procession and we had just enough sun after the ceremony to take some photos on the railroad track that happens to be right behind the vineyard.
